SAP is the global leader of Enterprise Resource Planning tools. The product is marketed as an all-encompassing suite of applications designed to enable business to manage all of its functional aspects under a single and unified umbrella.

For example, SAP has the capacity to handle Accounts Payable/Receivable, Sales and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, Customer Relations Management, Human Resources (from Payroll to Benefits Management), and the list goes on.

These guys (headquartered in Germany) have spent the past few decades building a monster of a product (that is, by all standards, a conglomeration of massive applications) capable of running a business from end to end. In other words, you can leverage the technology of a single platform, Enterprise-wide, to increase your profitability and your employee productivity.
