Does the government know that aliens really exsist but are not telling the public?

It would take a fairly big ego to think that aliens do not exist. There are billions of Galaxies in the Universe, billions of Galaxies with the likelyhood of having solar systems with M-type planets capable of supporting life(as we know). Many of these Galaxies are far older than the Milky Way Galaxy. Even in our galaxy, there are regions a lot older than our area, if life came about in one of those regions, it would have had time to become far more advanced than we are. The past two hundred years have given way to incredible advances in technology, think what a few thousand or million more years will bring..... IF.

Secrets are hard to keep, especially if more than one person knows the secret.... even then, ego or stupidity can expose that secret. What to do.... wait and see? I would like to know for sure NOW.

No. I can't imagine any reason they would not tell us. Why not tell people. The only thing I can imagine is that they were going to attack and blow the whole world up or something, then you've got a panic that isn't going to improve the situation any. But if the government knew that, do you think they would be messing around with gay marriage and terrorist wiretapping? No way.

Plus, there are other governments in the world that would find out and they wouldn't give a crap about telling their people, so we would find out that way.

This is all opinion and extrapolation, there really is no decisive evidence either way, but my opinion is yes. Consider this: computers were develped just after the Roswell crashes, as were many other things...

As to whether or not the do exist (not if the U.S. is hiding it or not), they absolutely must. The universe is supposedly infinite. If you say that we are the only life, intelligent or otherwise, then you are very ignorant indeed.

And to those who say that the U.S. are the only ones trying to hide it... look at the Soviet Union (Now split up into Russia and about 5 other countries), they had their own version of Roswell and Area 51.
