cuz we blindly follow the system set down by the corporate entities and wealthy oligarchs that have always weilded the most control. we look at the propaganda the establishment has shown us, and they brainwash us into thinking that all revolutions for the social benifit of the people are pointless, as they will decend into communism(what they fail to realize is that communim and socialism, though similiar, are many seperate, yet related, branches of thought that draw ideas from many of the same sources, but are not the same) we are taught from earliest infancy that we have the best life in the worls, and must therefore play into the system by handing over our god given right to control to the wealthy classes(the borguese)
who control the means of production, and wield congressional control.

Actually, majority rule is a bad thing too, thats why the Senate exists. However, I do agree that corporate interests have too much control in Congress right now.
What needs to happen is the total removal of lobbyists to finance any aspect of a politicians campaign, or their daily life. The money should go into a government fund instead that any politician can pull a set amount from. As far as these luxury trips and meals, etc. are concerned, if a congressional representative is going on a trip as part of research for a bill, the government (or at least the state government) should foot the bill. Otherwise, the representative should. This would remove the ability of lobbyists to directly influence these people.

Because we don't live in a communistic state. The only people who keep spouting redistribution of wealth are those too lazy to get off their butts and work. This country is still the land of opportunity. Regardless of education, a hard working individual can become a wealthy person given time. Corporations are nothing more than a large club of owners. Thru shares in the corporation, people enjoy the profits big business makes. Instead of gripping about companies like Exxon, start buying shares in the company. You can open a shareholder account in most big corporations for as little as a $50 start up investment. Ownership in big corporations is not limited to the wealthy. All large publicly traded corporations have investment programs designed particularly for the hard working individual to participate in the American dream. So...get off your butt.
