I'm putting this here because I'm try to get managers and business owners opinions on how they would react to an employees desire to switch gender roles or to an interviewee that was in the process of switching. How would that effect your treatment of them with respect to their job or potential job? How supportive would you be of their switch? What you you do when you found out? (As in do research, fire them, etc.) I know that seems like a big question, but as a transsexual planning on entering the business world after college soon, and I would like to get the opinions of some people already in the business world.

Thanks!

Honestly, it's a non-issue. The most important thing, to me, would be the employee, regardless of gender identity or any facet of identity. Do they do the job? Are they professional? How's their time management, efficiency, etc? All of those questions I'd consider for each & every employee.

Years ago, I co-managed with a transsexual employee & her identity was of no more consequence than anyone else's. It was never discussed because she never discussed or brought it up. That was her business to do so, if she wanted. And since she never did, it wouldn't be appropriate for anyone else to -- that's how I feel about anyone's personal life, no matter what the issues may be.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

the alternative is likewise genuine - if people are not working, they do no longer purchase stuff - and in the event that they do no longer purchase stuff, there is not any call for, so no people get employed. Keynesian economics outlines some very particular factors the place an infusion of stimulus capital can leap-commence an economic gadget like this one, artificially stoking call for like spraying ether into your carburetor, despite if it is not sustainable. If this is a shot like that that creates an preliminary call for, which then stimulates agencies to hire to maintain the funds flowing into the wallet of the folk who will proceed to purchase and proceed to create call for, then sure - this could artwork. the undertaking in this occasion is that too a variety of of the stimulus funds went to acquaintances of Obama - Unions, Banks, coverage companies, automobile agencies - whilst his risk of Obamacare, larger rules, larger taxes, and larger expenses (which includes capability and gasoline) have saved agencies from determining on up the way the stimulus meant. each and all the ether in the worldwide won't help an engine whilst there is water in the gasoline.

The gender identity of an employee or perspective employee is irrelevant. I would just want to know if they are qualified to do the job. However, we are a small gay owned company and very progressive.

I think its going to come down to the field that you are planning to enter, for example if you enter the field of banking..good luck... in generela it is very conservative and your transexualism will be looked down upon. But for example I have an unlce/aunt who works in the music industry and he rarely gets any negative coments thrown his way becuase it is very liberal, he/she has even moved up to a leadership position. My best bet would be to locate yourself in a liberal part of the country and in a liberal professional field. Otherwise no matter how professional the company may be they may be afraid of how their bussiness associates/clinets may perceive them.

as long as from 9 to 5 they function properly, whatever my employees want to do during their time, it doesnt concern me. All i want from them is that they work properly. Sex changes, alcohol or drug addiction outside the office is theirs to think of.

I wouldn't care about it. That is your business and that shouldn't effect your work quality any.
