Me, my husband and 2 kids are barely living paycheck to paycheck, and we want to pack up and get the heck out of minnesota. We want to go to North Carolina where we will be happier and have more opportunities. We have some things figured out, but will need to save up 3 or 4 thousand dollars. What do I do? I need to get out of here!!!

oh, yeah, and my credit isn't too great, either. I just had to give back a vehicle I had for a month because they couldn't get me financing.

Sell your eggs, have him sell sperm or plazma. You will both bank. Good luck.

This may work for you it what my husband and I plan on doing.
Wait until you get your tax return, that's moving money. Depending on how much you expect to get back, start saving now until then. You said money is tight, so where can you cut back?... Cut out cable TV, eating out, cell phones (if you NEED them cut back on the minutes or use pre-paid), magazine subscriptions, newspaper... anything you can think of that you can live without for 8 months. The most important part is you need to still act as if you have that bill, pay it to a savings account that is not attached to your checking. That's moving money. Can you make some extra money (with the kids depending on their age)? Deliver a weekend paper.... etc. Just keeping putting every extra penny away, and remember this is only for a few months. I'm sure you can make it.

Is there anything you can sacrifice or are you living with the bare minimums? If you can sacrifice things like new clothes or eating out, the 3 to 4 thousand will come very quickly.
A friend of mine did this. To earn extra money she got a second job as a waitress, Hooters to be exact, and she got the customers to be sympathetic with her.
How much will it cost of one of you to move to North Carolina. One of you can move and when enough money is made send money to the one living in minnesota.

Well you could begin by eliminating all of your essential bills like cable TV, blockbuster video rental, call waiting and 3-way calling, high speed internet, and anything else that does not affect your ability to eat and sleep.
Then you can begin to do other things like sell your computer and your car, and your TV and all of your furniture with the exception of the beds unless you don't mind sleeping on the floor.

Line up the jobs in north carolina first.
No point going there with great hopes and no solid job.

If you can get a salaried job in the area you want to move to, you might be able to negotiate costs of moving with the new employer.

for some extra money(its not thousands!) go to http://www.*************/index.php?ref55129 .I use this site to make alittle extra money to pay towards the principal of my mortgage. Sometimes a fresh start makes all the difference. Good luck!
