what is this www.safetyhomepage.com?

Question

when i get on my internet it goes to my home page but then i get re directed to safety homepage.com and a pop ucomes up saying that there is a virus on my pc
i run virus scan with mcafee and also ewido..........and it shows nothing on the virus scan........something has invaded my pc and i cannot gret yahoo home pafe up and also there is a new damn tool bar that i cannot get rid off........help please

ditto what has already been said - but want to add next time you open your browser go to your options menu and reset your home page - could have been altered in some way without you knowing it.

I just did an internet search and came up with loads of results however I have listed a forum for you below to take a look at. If you want to search yourself type safetyhomepage in a search engine and look at the results (do not go straight to a suggested page though as you may end up on the wrong one)

It IS a virus - try using AVG antivirus that may help and its free

You could try running a program called spybot its looking like you do have something there that changes your homepage
spy bot is free and may well help
Ignore the pop ups its usually a con to get you to buy something.

Hmmm sounds like a virus ... there are various sites that will check your computer over the net.


Dont touch that pop up, it will download crap on your comp.
