Hard to say - I would think probably not. They're a great place to go on a date, where you don't actually have to talk to your date.

I've thought this before, but it seems as if people are still going to the movies in droves, despite the expensiveness of it all. However, movie rental places seem to be becoming more obsolete.

I dont know.... They just might because some people are irresponsible. In Athens a teeneger duct taped a syringe needle to a theater seat and the person that went in to see the movie couldn't see it in the dark. People like that will make going into public obsolete.

absolutely not. it sounds cliche, but going to a theater is more than a movie, but an experience. the huge screen and being surrounded by other people you dont know and sharing the same thoughts and feelings and energy will never die out.

imagine your favorite movie that you've seen in a movie theater... and think of all the added intensity that you got from seeing it on the big screen. even with a flat screen at home, you cant recreate the atmosphere that you get from a cinema.

I have had 2 of them shut down in our town. People tend to wait for the movie to be released at the video store. I do not go to the movie. I wait and I think a lot of people do because of the expense and it is so much easier to watch at home and lot's of people can watch for the low price of $3.95. LOL You can also pause the movie to do what you need to do.

In a way, I hope not. Nothing better than to watch a horror movie in a huge dark place with a bunch of strangers!
On the other hand, I hope they do because of the outrageous prices!
Will they ever...probably not.

As far as I'm concerned, they are now. So much more convenient and easy to view a movie in the privacy of my own home where I can pause it when I have to go to the bathroom or get hungry.

As long as so many Hollywood "experts" think that we like them for their poilitical opinions, then movie theaters will suffer declines.
poor stories
high ticket prices
overinflated concession prices
rude people talking
cell phones ringing

It's just getting to be so not worth the effort anymore.
I have three kids. For me to take the family to the movies, it can cost up to $100 before the night is done.

No thanks. i'll wait for the dvd.

Cinemas (movie theatres) will become bigger and better and will have all the classic movies to watch all the time.

Nope because people want to get out of the house and see pure entertainment on a screen no matter how much it cost.
