Pony League Championship...1960 or 61....the left fielder dropped my fly ball over the fence for a 2 run homer....we won 2-1! (he still hates it when I bring it up to him!!)......the next year the same team dropped a routine fly ball to right with the bases loaded and two outs....we won in the 8th inning 8 to 7 (he hates me more when I bring that one up as well)

Luckiest thing:

9 years old, playing right field (where they stick all the bad players) our team up by 1 run, bases loaded, 2 outs. Batter hits a fly ball just barely into right field, I start running, realize i won't catch it, so I try to slow up... Boom, I trip fall face forward and the ball lands in my glove for the 3rd out. Everyone still thinks I made a diving catch... I'll never tell.

I wish I was old enough to play the lottery that day.

All baseball, all at second base:

- In the semifinal championship game, i made a bases-loaded unassisted double play in the 4th to end the inning and a barehanded throw to first on a soft ground ball up the middle to win the game.

- In the final championship game, the shortstop and i turned 4 double plays in 7 innings, and in the final inning (7-inning game) i made a diving catch up the middle to end the game. If it had gone through, the runners on 2nd and 3rd would have scored and the other team would have won.

- In one game, i leaped for a line drive over my head. It hit off the end of my glove, and i fell down. I got back up, ran straight towards right field, and made a diving catch before it hit the ground.

I hit a walk off 2 run homer in a city league game when the centerfielder misjudged my fly ball and I circled the bases for a game winning inside the park homer! I was lucky!
