--Prenatal care is very important and you're Doctor is the most important asset you have. They have gone to school, countless conferences, read the studies and have the contacts that you and the general public don't have access to. Use your OB/Gyn advice, you are already spending the money for their expertise anyway and there maybe things in one prescription that could cause harm to your child that another won't.

The over the counter vitamins are the same as prescribed. However I would talk this over with your doctor first because your body may be lacking certain vitamins and he can tell you exactly what you need. But after you speak to them....like I said...they are the same.

You shuold always go to the doctor when getting anything perscribed when your pregnant. Its better for your doctor to know exactly what your takin. Sometimes certain prenatal vitamins can make your morning sickness worse (just the smell or the size. During my first pregnancy My doctor had to switch mine, they were hard for me to take

I would think it would be safe at the drug store, but you may want to talk it over with the doctor and pharmacist.

My doctor gave me a prescription, but with my insurance co-pay, they would have run me $35. per month. NO THANKS!

With both of my pregnancies I used the store brand prenatal vitamins, and both my boys were healthy as horses. 8 lb. 4 oz. and 8 lb. 11 oz. with no problems.

Yes, it's safe. I have 2 very healthy kids, and I bought my prenatal vitamins when carrying both of them at Costco. It'll last until after you give birth.

Your better off going to see your doctor, instead of getting them at a drugstore. Doctors prefer you get them from them just in case you can't take a certain kind they they will switch you. Good Luck

You can get them over the counter just ask the pharmacist to make sure it has enough of the folic acid requirements for pregnancy.
