People want me to train them before I go out on maternity leave in November. But I am trying to catch up on all my work, while answering a 7 line phone. They keep coming over to my desk, asking me questions. And I don't have time today. How can I be polite about it? And have them stop bothering me.

Yuck!! I hate that! Sorry, been there.... Just nicely say, I know you need my help, but today I am VERY busy and you are going to just have to try and figure it out on your own. After you have tried every angle, then come back and I will help you. Are they working with customers? If so, you may have to step up to the plate. Or maybe you could let them answer the phone. Otherwise, if it is something that has no time frame, they can wait until you have some time. Good luck to you! Hope your day goes better!

it is stressful of course. Take a deep breath whenever you feel stress. Get a sweet chocolate and put in into your mouth to reduce your stress.

Take a deep breath. Tell them you are going to take a 15 min break and leave the area. Go outside, sit in the sun and think about nothing. That should help recharge your batteries. Then when you are not so stressed, go talk to your supervisor and let him know what is going on and if there is some way to try and set up a training schedule for those that need the training and make sure they know it.

Tell them you're in the middle of a project at the moment and asked them to come back at a specific time...say 10 am tomorrow.

I know you're busy, but take time to calm yourself. Stress is one of the worst things for a baby. It not only affects them in the womb but also affects their mental health for the rest of their lives. Babies who are exposed to stress in the womb tend to be more anxious and stressed adults.

Take a 5 minutes every hour to just breathe. Go to the bathroom if you have to, walk out to your car, just get away from the computer and take a few deep breaths.

I wish you a calm and productive day.

Is there something you've already taught them how to do? Then have them do that.

Can they answer the phone? Have them do that.

Have any work that they might be able to handle? Have them do that.

Is there anything they can teach each other already? Have them do that.

If not, kindly inform them "This is not a good day." Try it without grinning like a shark, though.

Also, take a break and get something to drink. You sound like you can use it.

Hi!!
Just tell them that you wish that you can help them but you just have alot to do before you leave for your maternity leave and that you just don't have the time to help them and get your stuff done too. Good luck!!!!

just tell them "I cannot right now" or "lets schedule a time when to do it".

The best option, of course is to tell your boss that you cant do ALL of this at the same time so he/she can give you less new work while you tie up all the loose ends - easier said than done, though.

One thing I don't believe... You don't time have time today!??

You can make time, you already did for Yahoo answers!!

Take it easy, just think of it as you are so important... then you may feel better!
