I wouldn't hold my breath because it won't be anytime soon.
India and China both rely on the economy and buying power of the United States. Without us their economies would collapse overnight. India is more concerned about Pakistan than the United States. The government of China is changing, and communism is in it's death throes. This is what happens when you introduce market economies into oppressive regimes. As for the Russians, they have too much concern with what is happening within their own borders to challenge the United States anytime soon. Until they resolve their internal conflict they will not be a major player on the world stage again. On the economic front, here again there is no real concern. Over the last 3 years the GDP in the United States grew 20%. The growth amount alone is greater than the economy of China as a whole.
Defensively there is no greater military power. While the militaries of these countries may be growing I would advise you to look back at the cold war for what might possibly happen. The nuclear option has not gone away, and every leader knows there is no victory in scorched earth. So while we could indeed enter into another cold war type build-up, the chances of anyone engaging in an invasion of America is highly unlikely.
Sh00nya: Such an interesting rant. Devoid of any real understanding or explanation of current global economic realities, but the America bashing was interesting. I really love how you put three countries together as allies who can stand each other, united in what you perceive as their distrust of America, I really love how you get into the heads of these very diverse world leaders. Perhaps we need you in the State Department. That is the thing with opinions, they don't have to contain truth. That's why they are called opinions.
Sh00nya: Mine is not a theory, it is a current economic reality, unfortunately yours is a theory, and a weak one at best given the history of three countries, which you so easily choose to ignore.. I did not say things weren't changing, I just said it would not be anytime soon. You suggest global cooperation is occurring and yet there is no evidence of that fact. Face facts you're looking for an opportunity to bash the west, while trying not to sound uneducated in process. Not a statement regarding your actual intelligence, just the intelligence level of your post. I am not the one who's lost here. I understand perfectly that money talks and all others walk, but I also understand that 230 years of America don't trump 1000's of years of distrust between the countries you put together, apparently you don't.

They will not be able to dominated us now. We got to the Oil before they did. That's why we armed the Taliban against the Russians back in the day. We wanted to keep them out of middle east and China did not have the technology and money to make a pipe line form that region to their land, the distance was to great. We have established a strong presence in all the major oil regions in the middle east and China and Russia will become dependent on us in the future for Oil. That's how we will keep them from becoming more powerful then us. How else are we going to compete with China?

China and India hate each other friend, i doubt their going to be bosom buddies for a long time yet.
Its only America that is facing an economic crisis, Europes economy is, as well as Americas, built on cheap imported goods from Asia.
China is set to implode however, any clear minded economist will tell you that the current growth cannoit be kept up. China mimics other products and makes them cheap, very little in the way of innovative technology is coming out of the Red Industry.
India however, as well as Japan, are currently pushing innovation in several key areas, anbd are set to make big economic gains.
This is why the European Union needs to be solidified to defend itself from economic depression, but i dont see how America can keep its position. Its economy, although growing, is showing signs of strain, and its military dominance is being seriously shown as a myth via the continued Iraq insurgence.
TO THE ABOVE POSTER
GDP is not industrial produce, that is domestic. GDP is the nations wealth, wealth doesnt mean industrial output.
I think youll find China is winning the war for cheap manufacturign and heavy industries

probable no longer. We have been allies of China AND the U.S. for the period of WWII. even with the undeniable fact that it may actually matter on what the conflict is being fought over. Politically it must be a disaster if we sided with one or the different. because of the fact if the component you sided with loses you are going to have multiple issues coping with the winner. 2 a possibility eventualities: If China says to Russia we are taking on Kamchatka there is a superb risk we would component with Russia because of the fact Kamchatka is geographically on the edge of Alaska. There may well be subject approximately having a topic like that on the edge of our border. Conversely if Russia desperate to annex Mongolia we could component politically with China, yet we does no longer become in contact interior the taking photos. the opportunity of the conflict promptly effecting the U. S. may well be minimum. i'm specific we would have diplomats going loopy attempting to barter a freelance between the two international locations, regardless of handed off.

They never will. There are other rising powers in Asia. India, for one, cannot be ignored, either economically or militarily.
And because of China's continual belligerence and the presence of the mad troll in Pyongyang, Japan will probably ramp up its military capabilities.
Russia is just too corrupt to become an economic power.

The United States has 25% of the worlds total production (GDP) 28% of the worlds wealth, and 8% of the worlds population. The USA produces more goods and services in one month than India China and Russia combined. India and China have huge population and poverty issues that they must address.
The theory that china or India or Russia will surpass the US economically or militarily any time in the near future is sheer folly.
Realize that historically Chian russia and India have never gotten along.

Its not a question of dominating...its what Thomas Friedman says in his book :The World is Flat...that the geo-political arena, which BTW also encompasses economic as well as military strength, is gradually on its way to become a more level playing field...esp wrt Russia, India & China.
20th century has been termed as the century of the US...but the balance is shifting from Western domination to Asian influence...also the nations all over the world, and there are sure exceptions to this phenomena, esp. in last decade or so have become so interdependent, esp. with the advent of Internet and people becoming more aware of whats going around them and in the world, that the domination theory won't work...also with what the history has taught us...West can no longer claim a moral high-ground on issues on which it itself has, to say the least, spotty record...it has to realize that it cannot shove its values down other nations throat...every nation has the right to decide for itself whats best for it and its people...also people with interaction with others are becoming more understanding and tolerant of others cultures and beliefs...well u don't have a choice if you are working in a global economy...the economic might always counts...and the West cannot hoodwink the world by its chicanery and deception...as it did in the past, eg. West pontificates a lot about democracy and all that BS, but the fact is West itself has throtttled vibrant democracies all over the world that seemed inimical to its interest...case in points CIA overthrowing Salvadore Allende's democratically elected govt. in Chile in '73 and replacing it with Gen. Auguste Pinochet's dictatorship, who over a period of 16 years was responsible for brutal murder and torture of his people...or Britain and US collabrating to throw (and succeeding too) democratically elected PM of Iran Mohd. Mosaadegh's in '53...and replacing him with, what most folks considered a Western stooge, Shah Raza Pehlvi...all this seems so funny in respect of West's grandstanding about all the values it so-called 'cherishes'...that one is reminded of that old adage:you can fool all the people some of the time, you can fool some of the people all the time, but you can't fool all the people all the time...;-))
As it is nobody is perfect...there are virtues and shortcomings everywhere...so if West thinks that it can play esp. these three emerging powers against each other...its in for a big surprise 'coz they have realized that its much better to collabrate and have your voice heard on the world stage than bicker with each other and let West dominate them and force them to hang to it by its coat-tails...
So, the sooner the West learns the new lessons and moves accordingly. the better its gonna be for everybody.
bryrose.geo:
Well..your retort seems as if you are living in a time-warp, buddy...you don't seem to to realize that the world has changed so much and is (changing) at such fast pace...that I am sorry to say your theory no longer holds water...as I said earlier, that if West thinks that it can still hold over to its domination by playing nations against one another, as it has been its want all along, than probably its high time it took out its its head out of its rear and looked around a li'l bit more closely...yes those three nations still have problems among them (esp. China with India and Russia) and they are not going away anytime soon, but the fact is economic considerations have forced them to place all the contentious issues on the backburner and cooperate on what (they consider) is in their best interest...
Also, as for India's (according to ur pearls of wisdom) "concern" with Pakistan, pray tell me who is propping up that tin-pot dictator Musharraf and isn't the "obsession" (not concern) really the other way round...Pakistan hankering after Kashmir since the two countries became independent and fighting wars against India...but then you sitting over there in US don't seem to realize, do you...as you seem to fall hook-line-and-sinker for what the govt. says...;-))
As for your suggestion, me taking a position at State Deptt., thanx and no thanx...I am perfectly fine where I am and I guess there are more enlightened minds around who are best suited for the job (you have in mind).
