Well...a person needs carbs in their life, but you should try to eat less carbs. Anything with sugar will put weight on you since sugar turns to fat. Believe it or not Corn, potatoes and carrots have sugar and you can gain weight from eating them, so does bread, so if you are going to eat bread, you should only eat rye bread, that has the lowest sugar count, but....you should not eliminate all vegetables from your diet either, that's just not healthy, just eat them less that's all. I just joined a gym, I exercise about 4 times a week, it takes awhile to get the weight off though, I'm still working at it. I've never been really big, just around the abs mostly. If you are serious about weight loss, eliminate foods like candy, sugary sodas, cakes, pies, things like that, substitute fruits, rice cakes, stuff like that. Your library would probably be able to help you find a book on what foods are good to eat, and what foods are not good for weight loss. Best of luck to you. I know how hard it is to lose it. I was a size 4 last year, am about a size 13 this year. You should have a physical exam first before going to a gym. I find that an extensive workout on the treadmill has helped alot, expect to sweat alot lol. I do around 100 reps per day on the treadmill, plus around 8 other exercise machines. You have to be dedicated and work your butt off if you want that weight to come off, it's not easy, believe me.

Well, dieting is only one aspect of losing weight. I wieghed 180 pounds and in 2 months i am down to 160. First of all, it takes commitment and believing in yourself! If you really work at it, you can lose the weight. Number one, drink lots of water! Forget the soda, although diet soda is ok sometimes. But drinking lots of water will get rid of all the crap in your system. Number two, excercising only a half hour a day is all you really need. Buy some good work out tapes especially pin pointing cardio. If you have a tred mill run for a half hour a day. Eating right is another key, but it's okay to indulge once in a while as long as it's not everyday. Eat a good healthy breakfast, cereal, yogurt, oatmeal, etc. Try and eat at least two servings of fruit and veggies a day. If you like V8 juice, drink an 8 oz glass of that and there is your serving for the day. Its easy as long as you stick with it and believe me you will lose the weight.

Eat properly. Your diet is 70% of your weight loss regimen. The thing you have to do is have a good meal plan. Here's what I do, with good results:

1. 8:00: Eat a very good breakfast. It's supposed to be the biggest meal of your day since that's the first fuel you get. That will wake up your metabolism since it basically dies every night while you sleep(extreme inactivity).

2. 10-11:00: Have a small snack later on, maybe two hours after breakfast. And when I say snack, I don't mean a plateful of pizza bites. I mean something like an apple or a small bowl of cottage cheese with very light sugar on it.

3. 12:30: For lunch have something small but filling. Don't have a feast fit for Henry V, just something that will keep you not hungry for around five-six hours.

4. 3:00: Have another snack in between lunch and dinner.

5. 7:00: For dinner, have another small but filling meal. Your dinner is supposed to be the smallest meal of the day, but most people get it backwards and make it the biggest. The only time I cheat on this is during Thanksgiving!!

6. 10:00: Before going to bed have another snack.

7. BE SURE TO DRINK LOTS OF WATER ALL DURING THE DAY!!!! Water is what makes your body flow well. It basically lubricates your digestion process and makes all the garbage that your body doesn't want go through faster. If enough of that waste builds up in you, it'll seep into your vital organs and you might get some kind of toxin poisoning. Sure, you'll pee a lot but that means you're getting rid of that waste product quicker. Basically, water is your best friend in this whole process.

The trick is to feed your metabolism all day long. If you don't eat for five to six hours, it will die down and go into standby since there's no activity going on. If you keep eating little things at a time, it won't die down and constantly process energy.

Think of it as a conveyer belt: if there's nothing coming down the conveyer belt for a long time, it'll probably shut down until something starts to happen. If you continue to eat during the day, there's no reason for it to shut down.

Here are some stats for you... The bad news is that one pound of weight is equal to about 3500 calories. Sounds bad, right? Not so! The good news is that the average male burns 2100-2400 calories per day doing only bodily activities(heartbeat, bloodflow, breathing, etc.) and the average female burns 1800-2100 calories per day doing the same thing. So you're losing a little more than half a pound per day without even lifting a finger. On top of that, if you eat less calories than you burn, you'll lose a little more than 15 pounds in one month. That means in a year you'll lose about 180 pounds, give or take a cheat day now and then. =)

But remember, even though this is 70%, that's still not the whole picture. The other 30% is working out, which will give that extra boost to your metabolism and make it work even harder for you.

You don't need to work out for six hours every day of the week. A decent amount is three to four times per week for one to two hours at a time. Always be sure to run a little before everything else. That'll wake up your body for sure!!

Hope this helped. Sorry for it being so long, but there's a lot involved.

Eat less, as in only eat proper foods like you fresh veggies, fruit, lean meats, baked, steamed or boiled dishes. No processed foods like bacon or sausage, only have low fat dairy, cut way down on the red meat, no pop or sugar and drink lots of water. Exercise more even if it is just walking for 30 minutes a day, house chores or dancing it all helps. Just keep moving and stay away from the TV- oh and the computer! Good luck.

Do at least 30 minutes of exercise, like brisk walking, most days of the week. The idea is to use up more calories than you eat. You need to use up the day's calories and some of the calories stored in your body fat.
Eat plenty of vegetables, fruits, and grain products like bread and rice.
Eat only small, single servings of foods high in fat or calories.
Eat less sugar and fewer sweets.
Drink less alcohol or no alcohol.
Choose foods whose labels say low, light or reduced to describe calories or fat.
Choose 1 percent or skim milk products and reduced fat cheeses.
Replace ice cream with fat-free frozen yogurt.
Replace sour cream with fat-free or low-fat plain yogurt.
Make sure fish, poultry and meat are lean. Trim skin and fat.
Broil, roast or steam foods.
Eat a Favorite Rich Food, Sometimes, that may keep you from craving it. But eat only a small amount.
Make sure your other foods that day are low in fat and calories.
Eat a Wide Variety of Foods
Variety in the diet helps you get all the vitamins and other nutrients you need.

overweight is harmful because they have to prevent cardiovascular diseases.Otherwise the most important complication will be hypertension, and after that Myocardial infarction and stroke. With obesity they can get Diabetes type 2 too. There are a lot of problems with overweight, but the cardiovascular diseases and diabetes are the most important. The best way is with diet and excercise at least 3 times per week and 30 minutes each one. Very easy

you have to be prepared for a full life change...losing weight or becoming slim is not about dieting for a while...you have to learn to change the way you eat in order to become healthy. you also need to start incorporating exercise into your life...thats also something that needs to become a life style change. start slow...a few short walks every day....before you know it, you'll be jogging for 30 minutes straight!

its all about moderation and motivation. just think that everything you do is not just to be slim, but to help your body and make you more healthy.

You absolutely have to exercise... anything exercise and for a good amount of time too. Like walking 3 miles, doing a few crunches, and eating breakfast everyday helps too. You can't just eat less, it's a part of it, but eating right is the best remedy. There is no over night cure either, it takes time and commitment.
