go to court plead no contest and fine is cut in half

You should have spoken nicely to the ticketing officer. They can cut you a break, making the ticket a little less.

Now all that you can do is plead guilty in court and ask for relief. Maybe they will, maybe they won't. A lawyer might be able to help, but then again, you will have to pay him too. Depends on the speed you were doing.

Yes: Go to court and plead guilty, and you may just get the court fee to pay, instead of the ticket. Especially if you have no driving incidences in the last five years.

Depends what they caught you doing. Call the District Attorney in the county you got your ticket. Explain what happened and ask if there is anything the DA can do to help avoid lawyers and court time.

Usually a judge will reudce your fine just by showing up to the court date.

U can just ask the clerk to lower the amount /assess the charge. I dont know how normal circumstance that is, but it worked for me! rom 75.00 to 54.00 ( not bad)
