In some areas in our country judges are not to run on a political platform because they are supposed to be non-biased.Maybe if we did away with all political labeling people wold have to research their canidate of choice and possibly loosen the stranglhold on money and power the 2 parties have in Washington. Maybe more money and power would be returned to the states as the Constitution dictates.

Interesting idea, but doubt it will ever happen - folks need labels so they can focus their emnity on someone - vilify them for their own purposes. For all its faults, I rather like the parlimentary system where even smaller factions have a voice and can align with each other to prevent the major party from exercising excessive control.

Then people would actually have to research and learn about the candidates and what they stand for, as well as what "evils" they've committed. It's just so much easier to boil everything down to labels, even if they don't fit the ideology of the candidate half the time..right?

I agree. That is exactly what George Washington wanted; he wanted 1 political party.
