Who cares about Sudan/Congo?

It's so bad about what's going on in Lebanon. But how come in Sudan and Congo, so many more people are dying then in Lebanon and it was hardly ever talked about? Even about 10 years ago so many people died in Rwanda and no one even helped them.

People are dying all over the third world, Mat, and lots of us ask why no one even helped them. Real question is....What are YOU going to do about it? No, don't say "But I can't do anything".

Theirs so many different reasons friend..

Firstly, most couldnt point to these countries on a map, let alone talk about the issues their.

Secondly, i live in Europe, and their is an almost blanket media silence on the issue, except for the Independant and Guardian issues. If we traced back alot of the problems, we would find they are either due to European Imperialism or American Cold War policy


Plus, people dont expect anything less from Africa. Its a dreadful mindset we have in the west that 'Africa' is a failing continent

NOT the UN, for one.

Any organization run by the Hero of Rwanda and Darfur Kofi Annan certainly has no squeamishness about ignoring a multitude of dead Africans.

Maybe Clinton can coach Kofi on how to go there after the fact and tremble his chin, bite his lip and pretend to wipe a tear away in an empty gesture of fake contrition.
