Very much aware and am worried about it what sort of place are we leaving for the future generations? Have you watched the documentaries about it? they are pretty scary. Once the oil runs out the whole planet will be in total chaos no transport no electricity etc we would have to go back to very basic living. Can we do that?

When I was at school in the '70s (1970s!), I remember doing a project on what would happen when all the oil reserves were finished- this was predicted to be in the 1990s.

Yes it's a problem, but there is a long way to go yet. Current high oil prices are actually sustaining the world's economy by pumping cash into the market. Lots of buying pushes investment prices up and loan prices down. Hopefully a steady correction of oil prices will soak up some of this liquidity so we don't have a crash.

To be honest, I am more concerned about a number of other things in the more immediate future.

Peak has been reached, its downhill from here friends.

Lets think about it, can anyone see Royal Dutch Shell and British Petroleum investing in cheap, renewable fuels until they desperatly have to?
By then, its too late.
