Your statement cracks me up: Americans believe that Bush isn't respected by foreign leaders. Riiiiiiiiiiight.....uh, how many foreign leaders can you name? The average American is so ignorant about what goes on in other parts of the world that they have NO IDEA who respects or does not respect our president.
What a joke of a statement! And the second part about the US gaining respect under Clinton, where are the facts that support that?

david c - Polls and approval ratings were what Clinton lived for, and he made no real decisions until he knew what the polling data told him to do...I see that as a liberal, polls are very important to you, much more so than governing. As a liberal sheep, you accept poll data as gospel - you think that the wording of the poll questions are perfectly neutral, and you accept that the poll sampling is off a perfect cross section of the population, and then you accept that the poll results are reported accurately - all of these assumptions are what make you a liberal - you believe too much garbage too easily, you don't have any ability to use discernment in your decision making, and you are so lazy that critical thinking is as foreign to you as potty training - david c, you are such a predicatable liberal...
I do wish that your day care helpers would keep a closer eye on you though...
Of course leaders like Kim Jung IL of North Korea liked Clinton better, Clinton gave him so many nuclear secrets, and he knew that he would never have to worry about Clinton standing up to him. Fidel Castro in Cuba was a good pal of Bill's, probably even got women for the Serial Rapist... And the Muslim fascists (that's how it is spelled, oh wise david c - Muslim...) knew that poll driven Bill would never take any decisive action against them, so any terrorist activity had the Serial Rapist stamp of approval. He couldn't figure out what the poll numbers were telling him to do after the bombing of the USS Cole, so we did nothing.
Of course, after he was impeached, he did bomb that aspirin factory for no reason than to take people's minds off the impeachment process - that was a bold swipe of no actual value. But you don't talk about that at all, do you oh wise david c?

Bush isn't respected because all the intelligent world leaders know he's a joke. All they have to do is listen to the fool talk with his incorrect grammar and mispronounced words and they know immediately he's a functional illiterate and an idiot. If that's not enough, all they have to do is look at some of the things he's done to bring this country to its knees.

I agree that popularity is probably toward the end of my list of good qualifications for a president, but you are wrong in saying we gained respect under Clinton. We were a laughing stock to the European nations under Clinton.

The only reason Clinton gained respect is by selling us out ie. China. It's simple when he "sucked their dick" for 8 years of course they (foreign leaders) liked us, they thought they could walk all over us.

Sounds like I'd prefer bush then. I don't want their respect. Bush operates in their face against their ideologies where as Clinton was a people pleaser to fill his veracious ego. Clinton's ego came far before his duty as president and that's irrefutable.

Did you know that the majority of Real Americans do give a rip what other foreign leaders think. They will still have to work with him and there is no other option. Sucks to be them.
If that is true then why is he so good at getting other countries to help us fight this war on terror?

I think Clinton is an icon to his own political party, who seem to be able to overlook any of his weaknesses. If your numbers were the result of polling I would want to know who did the polling and where. I believe he is a great President and could care less about popularity.

NO!!! And you are wrong, it is about 20%, until something happens in their country, then they start crying for the USA
to help them out, then it drops to 10%. Clinton was the second worst president, after Carter, to occuply the office.

And this is from the latest CNN/New York Times opinion polls, I'm sure.
Don't put much faith into polls - they're almost NEVER right. Bush is a great leader.
