Five suggestions:
International relations - Developing countries such as China are exempt or have very few restrictions in their emissions, and are major greenhouse gas producers.
Vulcanology - Natural events such as volcano eruptions spew millions of tons of greenhouse gasses into the air yearly.
Astronomy - The sun's natural heating and cooling cycles cause much more climatic variation than any influences caused by humans. The earth has been through quite a few ice ages; coming out of them required global warming.
Farm animal biology - Bovine methane emissions contribute significantly to the amount of hydrocarbons in the air.
History - Research on the panic in the 1970's that human activity was causing global cooling would shed some reality and sanity on the current global warming panic.

If you want to be a technician, you should go with something in the sciences. Environmental science, or engineering, for example, aside from other options that other posters have mentioned.
If you want to work at it from the political/advocacy side, to raise awareness about the problem, you should think about a major in communications, journalism, etc.
In all honesty, you can major in pretty much anything, and still do valuable work on that issue. For example, if you were to go pre-law, you could become an environmental lawyer, or if you were to go for business administration, you could work as a fundraiser for an environmental organization.
My suggestion is to talk it over with a career counselor or with your college advisor.
good luck

The sciences or engineering if you want to research and "find a cure" or solution to global warming. We really need some brilliant engineers out there helping to develop ways for vehicles to run on alternate power sources to relieve us of our dependency on oil.
If you want to inspire others to do something about global warming; major in politics/public policy. We also need people in the government to fight for and pass legislation that will make a change in regulations and fund research and development efforts.

Chem Eng - at my univerisity we do research on fuel cells and there is a student team that is designing a practical fuel cell vehicle. In that sense you are doing something about global warming by finding alternative fuel source to reduce GH gas emission

I would suggest sustainable development. We are going to have to keep developing resources to care for the world’s growing populations, but we can do that in a responsible and environmentally conscious manner – that is what sustainable development is all about.
