When my husband of 20yrs tells me I am the best thing that ever happened in his life & he couldn't live without me. And I know he means it!

That's gonna be subjective...I wonder how different guys and gals will see this...what a guy thinks the greatest compliment he can give a woman is...versus what a woman feels the greatest compliment she can receive is...
Of course, the greatest compliment wouldn't necessarily need to come from the opposite sex...
For me...I think any sincerely given compliment is pretty groovy...

If it is true about the lady and the man must not just say it to sleep with her that is a good compliment.

Just being sincerely listened to is the best compliment. I don't mean that phony, head nodding half-listening, but really listening and making relevant comments.

It depends on who it's coming from... for example, I've been making a webpage for a class I'm taking, and my Danish friend is helping me with it. He's into computers and all that stuff, plus he's very hard to please, so when he looks at my work, then tells me that it's "good", from him, that's an amazing compliment!
