Most Mother's don't raise their own children either. In fact most Americans don't raise their children, they let the television and public school systems do it for them. .... and you wonder why marriages fail?!?

Because people seem to be too quick to get married. They don't take the necessary time to really get to know one another and be sure that they are in love with each other. Most fathers don't raise there own children because when divorce happens the mother is 10 times out of 10 the one that gets custody and the father secondary with visitation. Once the mother finds a new man he's around the children as much as the mother which is less then the father so he does most of the raising. Or, they are just dead beat fathers

Because people know long know what commitment mean. When the going gets rough people don't want to work it out. The morals in our country has sorely deteriorated in the past 40 years. We now live in a 'throw away' society and so sadly fathers basically 'throw away their children. Plus, our children are going up in single family homes, struggling mothers and relying on liberal television for an education. People don't want to hear about right and wrong anymore.
This is one area where I am conservative and believe our ultra liberal society which encourages everyone to 'do their own thing' has contributed to our demise.

Most marriages fail because people jump into relationships too fast, we are all taught to believe in fairy tales (life is NOT a fairy tale, marriage takes real work), people don't take marriage seriously.
Also, there are starting to be more single fathers out there raising their kids on their own after a divorce.

Most fathers do raise their own children. However, cultural differences do exist by race. Until the black community's culture changes to be more achievement and traditional family minded, this will continue.

Because the lack of trust, honesty, financial understanding and communication. Most relationships start off on sex only and they find out more of a person too late. If they get to know the person instead of marry out of obligation for the child, there would be less problems.

Okay marriages nowadays fail because i think that couples become lazy and careless in some matters. They act different when they are single. there is more love when they are single then when they are married. people need to compromise somethings in order to have a good relationship. and women understand their children more then men do.

It started with the advent of the "no fault" divorce. You used to need a reason to get a divorce, now you don't. Our culture has caused people to jump into it with no real idea of commitment, and an unwillingness to get through the times that aren't all "hearts and flowers."

Dear pizzapizza. The answer is in your user ID. Marriages fail because women prefer pineapple on their pizza and men like pepperoni.
