Though possible, it is highly unlikely that you will get pregnant during your monthly menstrual cycle. During your period, your body works to shed the uterine lining that it has been building up over the last month, in preparation for pregnancy. When you don’t become pregnant, small uterine contractions begin, encouraging the unfertilized egg and unused endometrium to be shed from the uterus and through the vagina. This means that there is no egg in the fallopian tubes to become fertilized and no lining to help a developing embryo to implant properly.

This being said, there is a small possibility of pregnancy during your period. Women often mistake slight bleeding that can occur with ovulation as their period. Unprotected sex at this time can greatly increase your chances of becoming pregnant. Additionally, sperm can live in the female reproductive system for up to three days. Because some women ovulate at the very end of their menstrual periods, sperm may still be alive at this point, and able to fertilize an egg.

The period or bleeding marks the end of the menstruation cycle, which may indicate that the egg was not fertilized. There may be a couple of days between the last day of a cycle and the beginning of the next cycle - when the next egg is released. It varies depending on the length of the cycle of the woman. It's more likely that a woman will get pregnant before or after menses or bleeding than during.

Wikipedia: Common usage refers to menstruation and menses as a period. This bleeding serves as a sign that a woman has not become pregnant. (However, this cannot be taken as certainty, as sometimes there is some bleeding in early pregnancy.)

You are better off with the attitude that it can happen at any time. Use protection/birth control always.

When you have your period, the body is flushing out the uterine lining along with the egg. At this point usually the egg is no longer viable. But there are always exceptions. For the 2 weeks after your period, your are relatively safe. But then again, there are always exceptions. Then you ovulate and an egg is released into the system.

Oh, and the male sperm can survive in that nice warm and moist uterine environment for about 2 days at least. So if "he" gets there before "she" does there can still be side affects.

Women can only get pregnant when NOT on their period, in fact the greatest chance of getting pregnant is in the two weeks before her period comes.

On an average cycle of 28 days you count from day one of the period. Ovulation normally occurs midway in the cycle or around the 14th day and peak fertilization time lasts about 24 hours. However, sperm can live in the reproductive tract for up to 48 hrs so they can be there waiting. In addition to that in all reality anything is possible and pregnancy occurring at any time during the cycle should not be ruled out.

I in basic terms approximately threw up sooner or later at lunch whilst i attempted to consume seafood--some thing i do no longer oftentimes like besides--which had by no ability occurred to me in the previous (i do no longer oftentimes gag on nutrition, despite if i'm no longer that prepared on it). So I took the attempt and yep, i exchange into pregnant! became out I had recognizing all in direction of the 1st 3 months, yet when I hit 12 weeks, that stopped and now I definitely have a healthful little guy. sturdy success to you!

Most women don't get pregnant when they are on their period. However it has been known to happen. Use condoms if you are worried about becoming pregnant or get on the pill although condoms work better than the pill.

A woman can get pregnant at any time. It is more likely at certain times, when she is ovulating. However, it is possible to get pregnant on any one of the 365 days out of the year as long as she is fertile and the male's sperm are any good.

If you've had your interval, then your no longer pregnant. SOME ladies get implantation bleeding that last's a couple of day and it is fairly rare. All i can say is go to the general practitioner to find out.
