Honey, it depends on what was ruined. I have four boys, they make the same claim and I'm going to tell you exactly what I tell them. First, mentally switch roles with your parents, would you let you do what you wanted to do? I'm not insulting your intelligence, but at your age, you do not have the mental capacity to think of the "what if's". You aren't able to see the hidden dangers that may come of what it is you want to do. That's the beauty of being young, you live for the moment. As parents, we can't. Much like you, we often asked the same questions of our own parents. Life experience has taught us to be this way. We know what's out there, we know it's our job to protect our children, and we find oursevles going to great lengths to do it. If you want more privaleges, stop the whining and complaining and talk to your parents. A responsible approach to this situation could lead to compromise. It'll open their eyes to the fact that you are growing up and ready for some more breathing room. You also need to understand that alot of your freedom is based on trust with them. If you've broken it before, you'll have to earn it back. Putting yourself in their shoes will help you understand.

You are not specific at all on what your parents supposedly ruined.
Parents don't ruin everything, they protect you from harm. We usually have a good reason for every answer we give you. I admit sometimes there is not a good reason to tell you, but a gut feeling. If I had followed my gut every time I should have with my son, he wouldn't have been in as much trouble as he was.
Just respect your parents and be happy you have parents that care!

I am sorry that your parents ruin everything for you.
I do not know anything about what they are ruining but here are a few things that I would ruin for my kids if I caught them doing it.
Putting your head in a lions mouth
Swimming with gators
playing with TNT
jumping off the roof of a three story building without a parashoot
joining a street gang
having unprotected sex
And if she gets pregnet. Getting an abortion (that is MURDER)

You think they are, but they are just trying to protect you. Trust me. If my mom hadn't of stayed on me, I would have gotten into so much trouble. I got into a lot of trouble, but it would have been worse. I may have went to jail or be dead right now. Children just don't know. They think they know it all, but they really don't. You will find this out when you are in your 20's. You will realize that you didn't know anything and you will never stop learning. Learn from you parents mistakes. There is no sense in learning the hard way. My niece is always making bad decisions. I will tell her before she does it that it is wrong. After she does it, she finds out that it was not a good decision and I am there to tell her I told you so, when are you going to start listening, but she never does. I guess some people have to learn the hard way, but you want be able to learn if your dead. So think about that the next time you want to disobey your parents.

Parents do not ruin everything. They may stop you from doing something that you think you should be able to do but they are not ruining anything. They are older and wiser and have more life experience than you. Someday, you will appreciate them.

Aww, whats the matter? Are mommy and daddy not letting you date? Did they not buy you a car for your bday? Are they not allowing you to stay at a friends overnight? Did they tell you to do some chores if you want your allowance? Aww poor baby. Life is like so over. What a horrible existence you must have. Are you 18 yet? No? Than shut up and get over it because until you're 18 you have no say in anything.

I don't think so that parents ruin everything. Maybe they are just trying to protect you from harm. And they don't like you to have regrets at the end.

It's more a case of trying to protect you from making mistakes than "ruining" your fun.
It might not be to your liking, but adults DO have a bit more knowledge about what the world is like than you have at the moment.

That's our job.
What, did they forbid you from seeing some boy who's 5-6 years older than you? Won't let you go to a party where there is going to be drinking and no supervision?
It's because it's our job to make sure you survive your childhood long enough to kick you out of the house when you turn 18.
