Every day between 3:00 & 4:00 my computer goes offline for no reason. Do I need to change a setting?

I turn it on at 12:00 and leave it online. Then between the hours stated above it goes offline and I have lost several important letters. What needs to be changed in the settings? I have Netzero and wrote to them but no response. Need some help please using simple terms.

My Internet connection disconnects between 3:00 & 4:00. Goes offline for no reason.

Start > Accessories > System Tools > Scheduled Tasks

check to make sure you don't have any special tasks in there set to run between 3 and 4...


Also, since you mentioned you turn it on at the same time everyday, this could be the result of overheating... computer CPU might be heating up over the course of 4-6 hours then finally overheating and rebooting. If this is the case, try turning it on earlier, or later, and see if it restarts at a different time. If it's overheating there could be many things causing this - not enough ventilation, the CPU fan could be loose, etc. Good luck!

What turns off? Your computer, or your internet connection?

I don't quite understand what you're asking...

Some people think when their internet is slow, they tend to think it's their computers that has the problem, is this one of those questions?

First off, if you're computer is on and turns off at a specific time, like the times you mentioned, it's obvious that something has been schuduled to run this task.

Now, if you're talking about connection going off between 3 and 4, then that's either a router configuration or firewall.

Be more specific.
