Overall, what do you think of most Americans?

I'm not asking about george bush or any movie stars. Just your typical Americans.

We all have are faults so I am sure Americans have much to say about us as well... and all generalizations are wrong (including this one) however the most noticeable difference differences tend to be:

1) Marked lack of knowledge about anything that goes on outside US - like I have heard professionals ask the name of the river flowing through London, or when passing Greenwich say I thought that was in New York, much to the amazement of all the other European colleagues. Or thinking Britain is not a democracy becuase we have our Queen.
2) Belief that their system is the best one, thinking Europe is one step from Communist China because we have a socialist government in power. Or someone is a suspicious leftie extremist because he votes Social Democrats (Britain's middle of the road party).
3) Laziness and extravagence, lack of interest in the environment - Americans drive gass guzzling SUVs and may of them are extremely overweight.
4) A strange association between Junk Food and patriotism, it seems pretty incomprehensible that American's equate drinking Coca Cola and eating Hamburgers with pride in being American, while many have this great fear of eating dishes foods where everything is laid out - such as paella.
5) Cultural insensitivity, an American manager came to a Welsh plant and in a strange kind of inverted compliment told us how well we had done despite being in a third world country.

On the positive side we love your enthuisiasm, your friendliness, chances for business development, your interest in our quaint country and that you consider us cousins.

For all their strangeness I think most Brits still think of Americans as distant cousins and therefore family - so you are still very welcome to visit and will be treated with respect and friendship.

Americans or okay i guess. Some of them are stuck and such and some are plain lazy and hire mexicans to do the work for them and they get paid $20 an hour while they pay the mexicans like $5 an hours. Which is cheap because the mexicans did the work in that case. I'm saying that all americans are bad and such i'm just saying that some of them are like that. Then some americans are mean to like indain and chinise people thinking some of them are dumb and such when sometimes they get better grades then them. Overall i guess if aamericans won't so lazy, stuck up and racist. Then i guess americans would be all right.

The ones I have met have been really nice, genuinely caring people. Some do have a tendency to be a bit loud and brash but on the whole good.
We are all human beings at the end of the day whatever the colour, wherever we come from and whatever we think of ourselves.
