After all people sit in front of the TV and get overloaded with violence, sex, and advertisements but don't go off the deep end over those subjects.

IT'S BECAUSE THOSE TOPICS ARE STUPID AND DEMOCRATS ARE JUST USING THOSE SO THEY'LL BE IN THE PUBLIC EYE AND BE MORE LIKELY TO WIN THE PRESEDENTIAL ELECTION IN 08. GORE SAID GLOBAL WARMING WOULD TAKE OVER THE EARTH IN 10 YEARS MORE THAN 10 YEARS AGO AND NOW HE'S SAYING IT AGAIN. IF GLOBAL WARMING IS HAPPENING NOW, HOW IS IT THAT THE TEMPERATURES IN THE 1800s AND 1900s WERE SO HIGH? COME ON NOW. IF SOMEONE COULD TELL ME THAT, MAYBE I'D LISTEN TO THEM ABOUT THE ENVIRONMENT AND GLOBAL WARMING. I DON'T FEEL GUILTY ABOUT IT. I CAN'T EVEN DRIVE YET, I DON'T LITTER, I DON'T ABANDON THE ENVIRONMENT. YOU ASKED FOR AN OPINION ON WHY PEOPLE LIKE ME DON'T TAKE THOSE ENVIRONMENTALISTS SERIOUSLY. Sorry I typed in all caps, I just feel really strongly about this subject.

I don't have the perception that people get offended. Maybe if they feel they are being blamed for the destruction of our planet but I can't imagine an individual would ever feel soley responsible. (Unless they vote republican (US) or conservative(Can)). It is difficult to change extravagant lifestyles but it will happen, either voluntarily or following a major economic and environmental disaster.
