Generally docs don't like to check until about 20 weeks with an ultrasound. But you'd be better off checking again at 30 weeks. If they say it's a boy, it's most likely a boy, but if they say it's a girl, it's still a 50/50 chance that it's a boy. Good Luck

Between the 16th and 18th week is when the sex of the child is formed and able to be seen by an ultrasound. Also, if it's a girl, her ovaries are already being formed!! Interesting huh? However, this may be the time frame to find out, but that doesn't mean you absolutely will. My little guy kept his legs close together for the first atttempt...I didn't find out until later that he was a boy.

It all depends on how the baby is positioned. I had an ultrasound at 3 months as my doc said I was having a baby boy. However then I had one at 4 1/2 months and another doc said I was having a girl ( no chance of a boy ) it turned out at first she had her cord in between her legs. But after at 12 weeks you can usually tell as long as the baby is positioned correctly so the doctor can see its genitals. GOOD LUCK AND CONGRATS

Victoria, and amniocentesis (where they take fluid from your womb and genetically test it) is the only certain way to tell. But, there are risks associated with it, so they won't do one unless there is a medical reason. Later in your pregnancy you will likely have a sonogram; most doctors are pretty good at reading sonograms and will tell you what they think the sex is. I think the sonograms are most commonly done much later in pregnancy, like at 6 months or later. Good luck, I hope you have a healthy baby.

We found out with our first at 16 weeks.
I think that's about the earliest they can tell by u/s, but the baby also has to cooperate!
