Not all species are only 2 sexes. Many invertabrates,some fishes, and some amphibians are either both or neither. Some can change at will. Haven't you ever heard of asexual reproduction?

According to the ancient Greeks originally their were three. Each had 4 legs and 4 arms and two heads. They were very strong and fast. The Greek gods feared them and severed them in two. The first were spit into two men, the second into two women, and the third into a man and a women.
The men split from the two men cling to men, Women split into two women cling to women. Men and women split from each other cling to each other.
Maybe that explains it?

one is too lonely.... two is a company.......three and or more is a crowd.The idea is to reproduce and not to avoid the confusion of propagating the weakest kind.
So be very thankful you are a result to that union of just two sexes because even if you had to compete against many in your mama's womb, you came into this world a winner, a champion in that gender-race of boys and girls.

Because man wanted someone else a companion and god gave him Eve, according to the bible. And some species it only takes one to reproduce, mostly bugs.
