I follow the news daily and it seems that over the past few years the headlines have been getting scarier and scarier. It seems like the only news is bad news or idiotic celebrity gossip, all over the world. At first I thought the fault was with US coverage of world news, so I started following the news sources from other countries and found more of the same thing. War, hatred, religious fanaticism, environment, Tom Cruise. No good news anywhere. Everything seems to be getting worse with no end in sight. At the same time, a sober look at world history will reveal that there were times much worse than this. My question is this: Are things really that bad or is it the coverage and the interpretation of the news that makes us think that the world is spinning out of control?
If you don't feel like writing an essay on this, just give me some good news. Tell me about something good that happened to you.

It not that more bad things are happening, is just that they are getting more news coverage. I guess people want to see the bad things that are happening to other people, so they think they aren't doing so bad themselves? If you want happy news, check out: www.happynews.com They only tell stories about happy things.

If you want to hear good news I suggest you don't look for it in the media. Good news does not produce ratings, it just doesn't cell. As for the celebrity's 9 times out of 10 you don't hear about them unless it is a scandal. I honestly feel if there was only good news we would not have any thing like the media.

As for some good news I can just tell you I am happy. I am not the kind of story you hear on the 5 o.clock news. I am a happily married Muslim women. My husband is very kind to me and we have a good life. I am a white American convert and love being a Muslim. I also moved to my husbands home(Egypt) and am not treated bad. But the only stories you here are ones like not with out my daughter, all because my story is not what people want to hear.

Will it ever change, no I don't think so. The only thing that has changes is technology, besides that people are the same. They just have guns instead of swords.

Now I'm my own boss, happier than I've ever been and the only time the world news affects me is when I turn on the tv.
There have been terrible things happening in the world since the start of recorded history, we only recently had instant access to all of them at the same time.
Just live your life. Don't worry about the end of the world, It will happen when it happens.

Things have been going really bad since the beginning of time, but back then vikings didnt have the means to know what was going on in the middle east. Which is no different than what is happening now, except they have guns instead of swords and spears, and the news to tell us all about it.

We live in perilous times in a world where that's what people really want. If they didn't want it, they'd really do something to stop it. We are very near the end of the age however.

Yes, things are bad, but not that bad...
Bad news sells papers (and ratings), so the media promotes it...

If I had to call the flaws I despise maximum approximately PETA - *their disgraceful reaction to the Greyhound bus homicide a pair of years in the past *their sexism and exploitation of ladies of their propaganda *the hypocrisy of their chief who, based on animal-examined and -derived insulin for her very own survival, seeks to disclaim individuals the comparable get admission to to animal-examined existence-saving drugs. i think of this is substantial that as veg*ns we distance ourselves from PETA, because of the fact many non-vegans assume that they communicate for us. surely, of path, there have been vegetarians and vegans long, long in the past there exchange into ever PETA; PETA exchange into began as at present as 1980. And most of the international's veg*ns have never heard of PETA
