To change the default mail client in Internet Explorer, follow these steps.
Internet Explorer
1. Start Internet Explorer.
2. On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
3. Click the Programs tab.
4. In the E-mail box and in the Newsgroups box, click the program you want.
5. Click OK.

in case you dont have yahoo appearing your list you might have to install yahoo toolbar with yahoo mail selected in additional applications which come along with it.

first go to internet options
click on
programs tab
Mail tab should have an arrow to a drop down box
there u should see yahoo mail
set it then click apply
If you dont see yahoo mail
then you need to download the yahoo mail pluggin
