Other than what reality show winners receive (vehicles, money, performing contracts etc), does anyone know if contestants receive any salary during the weeks they compete?

I've seen some reports that they are paid $1500 per week - which is the minimum required by the union that represents performers.

No they do not... they only get room and board until they kicked off. The only way thet make money is if after they are on the show and they get offers to do commericals and a appearances and stuff like that.
