I want to be a firefighter! I am terrified of heights, that's the only thing stopping me!
how can I over come this fear! any advice!

Why do you want to seek this career? It's hot, heavy, grueling, dangerous work. No doubt, each firefighter has some internal fear they battle on the job. You're like the medical student who gets squeamish.
Go visit your local fire department, talk to some of them and see what they recommend. Be aware, they may try to talk you out of it. Also talk with the local volunteer fire department
Then, if you decide to try this, enroll in a firefighting course. But remember, the schooling isn't quick, and getting hired as a new recruit can be challenging.

That is a rough job. You have to be tough. I think your fear of heights is a good indication that this might not be the right career for you. Maybe you could work with the fire department in some other capacity.

If you are terrified of heights, you can only suppress the fear...but you won't over come it. If someone's life depended on your agility on the ladder; then I wouldn't force it. The fear may come back while you are rescuing someone. Join the police force. that may be better for you.

Better take pity on yourself and other firefighting staff. If you are with them, which would they attend? their job or your fear?

realizing that your afraid
tell others
jump in and do it thats the only way to get thru your fear
believe in god
fear is false evidence of appearing real
the other fire fighters have support for you

by simply facing your fear. why not trying bungee jump and/or rapel from a real tall building
