To baby girl...
Your body is your own. If "god" didn't want you to have tattoos, he would not have let some guy invent a tattoo machine, would he?
Anyway,
If you're going to get a tattoo, get something that you KNOW you won't regret. It doesn't matter how you will look at 90 with something on your butt, because who's looking at your butt when your 90 anyway? A tattoo is for you, not for anybody else, and you should only do it if YOU want to. I have 2 so far, and I am in love with both of them. I would never regret them because even if later in life I am no longer interested int he same things, they are a reminder of who I am at this point in my life.
It's all about self-expression.

Well, first, you have to make sure you go to an artist that is really good, because you don't want to hate what he has permanently put on your skin because he isn't a good artist.
Second, it hurts. If you can't deal with pain, then don't do it. If you have long finger nails, poke your self (firmly enough to make it hurt), then multiply that pain by 5 and that is how much it will hurt. It is less painful in certain places than it is in others. ie: spine hurts a lot, arm hurts a little less.
Also, in certain places of employment, they don't want your tattoo to show. Make sure you are able to cover it up with normal clothes (T-shirt and jeans) or you may be in trouble when you try to find a job.
And most of all, think about when you get old. Your skin will sag and it will be wrinkled. Try to choose a place on your body where your tattoo won't stretch out.
Just in case you couldn't tell, I have had my own experience. It really isn't that bad. I like mine.

The pros are that it's a form of self expression. The cons is that it's painful and needs upkeep - as in update - as it can spread with age. You also may not be into the same things at 48 that you were at 18 and you're stuck with a self editorial in which you may not still believe.

Pro: my good friend is excellent tattoo artist, the best...
But it could look nice for few years but then it starts to fade away and lose shape...
The worst thing - there is not enough space for everything!
How to make a lifetime top 10, 50, ...100?

-You need to make sure you can live with that tattoo for the rest of your life because it won't go away unless you have removal surgery.
-If you don't want it to be visible (for work or such..depending on what you do) get it in a place where no one can see it unless you are a.) in your underwear b.) bathing suit c.) naked
-DO NOT get something right out of the books or on the wall. Make it mean something to you and even (if you can) draw it yourself..or even have the professional artist do it.
-Make sure you pick a place that is CLEAN and SANITARY!
You don't want to get aids or other diseases from an "artist" who was too lazy to clean the needle or didn't have something to clean the needle with..even if it is cheaper. It's not worth it.
That's all you really need to know..I hope you enjoy your tattoo..i know i enjoy mine!

Pro: expression of who are, what you are interested in, and makes you unique.
Con: its there forever
I personally love tattoos as long as a women has them in a sensible place. All over the body on a girl is gross. But, lower back, back of next, shoulder blade, or down under are nice places. Guys, well guys just do whatever and dont care. :)

Depends totally on what you think about tattoos. For one thing, they are permanent (unless you want to go thru a lot of pain and get it removed). They can be a beautiful piece of art or a really bad piece of trash. I, personally, have 15 tattoos and love evry one of them. They are addicting, once you get one you can't stop. I recommend you think about it a lot before taking the plunge.

the best is that you are satisfied with it and the worst would be that you regret it so before you get one i would research and research more do you really want it there when your older and your skin does not hold as well do you want everybody to be able to see it, are you going to like it forever it can be removed but there is a scar from it do you want that and then that ??? would be if your getting it removed should you have gotten it in the first place ??
I hope this helps you :0)

pros: if it is something meaningful to you it will always be with you and can be a statement of your individuality.
cons: the pain, the healing process, you make not like it in 10yrs and then your screwed, color fading, $$$$, and the amount of time it takes to complete them, and they are highly addictive so watch out!
