Peace is not at out finger tips. Cease fire does NOT equal peace.
The U.S. has a volunteer Army and it isn't just the poor joining it.
The poor do NOT pay all the taxes while the rich make all the money. Do some research...
The Top 50% pay 96.54% of All Income Taxes
The Top 1% Pay More Than a Third: 34.27%
Nuclear weapons are not the answer to our problems. You want to talk about people dying? Did you even think before you said that?
This war is NOT for oil and it is NOT for the benefit of corporate America.
p.s. In this new age of technology spell checker can be your best friend. Learn how to use it.

bombs can't do it all. one bomb can, but its not very popular, and too many innocents get it. people will always make money during war, just like peace. you don't have a problem with people making candy bars at high profits during peacetime, but when a war comes and armor and weaponry manufacturers get more business than ever (wow), there is s problem. come on. if you were in the oil business or weaponry business you would not have a problem. life is not fair, and it never will be.
about the poor being "sent" by a mystical parent or someone, the last time i checked, we have an all volunteer military. i don't know the stats, but you make it sound like every soldier is below the poverty line and has been forced by their situation to join and die. not true.
if you join, you know the risks. its like whining about the sacrifice a janitor makes when he has to clean a toilet. its not fun, you can get dirty, but you knew it was part of the job. they don't whine, soldiers doing a part of their job that is not why they joined, but know it could happen, don't whine. they do it the best they can.
you want to get out because there is nothing in it for you. sorry. i could be wrong, and i hate to judge, but get real. name one person you know personally that has become rich because of the war and is thankful that war came. i don't think so.

Well put.
Eisenhower said "In the councils of government, we must guard against the acquisition of unwarranted influence, whether sought or unsought, by the military-industrial complex. The potential for the disastrous rise of misplaced power exists and will persist. "
The problem with war is it is very good for the economy. Those with the most to gain, the one who supply the weapons and technology, are usually the upper class. Those with the most to lose are usually the poor, most of whom join the military in an attempt to better their station in life.
On to Israel.
Most of Israel's arsenal was supplied by the US. They have Patriot missiles, F-16s, and AH-64 Apache attack helicopters. They are quite capable of handling this on their own, militarily, if they wanted to. The problem is that they chose to attack from the air and across the border instead of getting "down and dirty" and rooting out their attackers. If a war is justified and worth fighting, it is worth losing a few lives over.
But, once again, by choosing to separate themselves from actual "combat", it is the poor who are paying the heaviest price, the civilians.
I know you probably don't like "liberal pundits", but I recommend you read Ted Rall's latest rant. It is filled with a lot of good information.

Now that's true diplomacy!
PTF - If you have time and care to read a very interesting article - the link below is a article from the Wall Street Journal written by Shelby Steele. It talks about why American and Other successful Caucasian nations have an albatross hung around their neck. It is a great article and I hope you will check it out. If you already read it then hopefully other YA answerers will be inquisitive enough to read it.

The same arguments about only the poor boys and girls go to war was made during the Viet Nam war. Apparently you haven't heard that we have an all voluntary military. My nephew is there because he wants some action in his life, and he loves it, and is planning a career in the army.
I say bring our troops home, so that you will be forced to either surrender to the Islamic fanatics, or fight them in your back yard.

No, we are not nuts in America, but what do you think we should do to people who go around blowing things, killing innocent people, especially Americans and Jews and trying to subvert their so-called peaceful religion on the whole world. Do you think
that we are going to roll over and play dead??? I don't think so.
