It's from the movie Citizen Kane. The word is ROSEBUD. It refers to his sled that he had as a child. It was his last word before he died. To me, he was saying that despite his fortune and glory the thing you long for most in life are the simple things like a loving family and a happy childhood.

The sledge in Orson Welles' Citizen Kane which is a psuedo biography of William Randolph Hearst is named Rosebud. It was believed that William Randolph Hearst knicknamed the clitoris of his girlfriend Marion Davies Rosebud.

I believe you mean "Rosebud" which the charachter Citizen Kane called his childhood sled. As he lay dying on his bed he whispers the name of the sled indicating what this powerful tycoon really valued.

This term was also, however, a nick named used by Orson Wells when refering to a certain part of his mistress' anatomy.... hmm.....

ROSEBUD, ROSEBUD, ROSEBUD

SEE SOURCE: Rosebud was an inscription on the sled Kane had as a boy. It symbolizes his childhood and the happiness and innocence that he had then.

A rosebud is also what you call a rose before it opens up, when it is in its immature closed state...

rosebad dont mean sh*t
Rosebud was Kane's name for his snow sled.
Vidal slyly suggested it was Hearst's name for his mistress Davies's clitoris. But that's Vidal for you- always teasing.

That word isn't found in Webster's Dictionary, so it must be some made up slang term or something.
