Which jobs / career paths would be best for someone that scores well on abstract reasoning?

There are many careers you could choose with that skill, and you will want to consider other factors like - what you enjoy most, what working environment suits you, etc. Try this web site from the author of "What color is my parachute?"

You want something that involves creativity and/or the flexibility to make decisions so you can use that ability to "think outside the box". You can find a place for such thought processes in almost every field (although not every company!) so the question is, what does that person want to do?

a planner (especially social services planner) or researcher

i'm an abstract reasoner myself & my job fits under that first category. i find it to be a really great fit.
