Logan berries are reddish before ripening to a black color and grow on trees. Raspberries grow on a Brier type foliage and are about 2 to 3 feet above the ground. They should be raspberries if they are cumulatively little bumpy seeds on one berry.
If the birds are eating it, it may be safe for you too, but until you are positive, leave them for the birds.

I will assume they are not raspberries.
Red berries about 3/16" in diameter growing on a shrubby plant that can be 8' or so tall? The leaves are sort of elliptical? The bark looks sorta thin, grayish, and dry?
Probably a honeysuckle, since you say it grows "all over in the woods". Bird eat the berries of lots of plant though including the mulberry.

Could be poke berry. Birds eat them, but they are poisonous to humans. The leaves are edible to humans and in the south they boil them. They call it poke sallet. You can do a "Yahoo search" on poke berries and see a picture of them.
