I exercise, i eat my fruit and veg i drink about 5 pints of water a day and i don't eat more then 3 average sized meals a day (any snacks include cereal bars and fruit), yet i can't seem to lose weight, if anything i'm getting slowly bigger and bigger over the years. I've tried internet websites and they tell me to eat fish (i haven't been able to touch it since my mum used to force me to eat it when i was younger, tried it since still don't like any of it) salads (i'll have two a week but find them so boring cos i don't like onions and peppers so basically only have lettuce and cucumber!) and brown pasta. I eat white pasta and rice (it tastes much better then brown) but i eat wholemeal and granary bread. Can anyone help me? i'm clearly a fussy eater so no stupid answers that include stuff i told you i don't like please. I must have v slow metabolism maybe there are ways i which i can speed it up. Can anyone help?

Why is it when people mention diets they think we are huge and fat and sit home worrying about food and our weight all the time. This is not the case, i've slowly gained 2 stone over about 5 years any want to shift it so no rubbish comments like templjohn and misfit on here. Clearly just on yahoo answer to just up their points! so sad!

Hi, I'm trying to loose weight to, the things that have helped me are:
Not eating after 5 in the evening,
Drinking a glass of water before I go to sleep
Drinking lots and lots of green tea, or white tea if you prefer the taste
Keeping a graph of my weight- this really motivates you when you add a trend line and can predict your weight for a few weeks ahead
Sometimes do an all juice and lettice day, don't eat anything else and you will loose weight but wont be eating that long enough to be bored
Have any treats in the morning, and if dining out, have lunch out not dinner
If you feel tempted to eat something brush your teeth, then you wont want to eat because of the taste
Do online shopping, so you are less tempted by the sight and smell of the unhealthy foods
Add something like cinnamon to flavour food rather than sugar and fattening sauces.
Good Luck, I hope this helps!

One of the biggest problems that we run into is the "FAD" diets. Well, since everyone has different body types, these usually don't end up working out for most of us.
The biggest solution that I have found for people to lose weight is Weight Watchers. This program uses a point system (i.e. one glass of wine is = 1 point, one bagel with cream cheese is = 10 points, etc). The big thing is that you are more aware of what you are eating.
The other goal as with anything is self discipline. I can say that I eat all my veggies and fruits and drink plenty of water but it doesn't help if you are sneaking off to McDonald's in the middle of the night and hunched in your car in some dark parking lot scarfing down three $1 double cheeseburgers.

It sounds like you are having well balanced meals. I would write down the calories you consume for a few day to see if you are eating as well as you think you are. Write down everything, even a stick of gum. You'll get an idea of where to cut the calories. I noticed you didn't mention exercise. Go for a walk a few times a week, you'll notice a change. After you get used to exercising step it up and increase your activity doing whatever you enjoy.

Stop eating so many bloody carb's. Eat less (smaller portions) and broaden your horizons. On top of that stop being so involved in it. It won't fall off, if you sit and worry about it. You'll get depressed. Get a hobby, your attitude towards food sucks!

you are most likely taking in a lot of calories and sugars and not realizing it. educate yourself on where calories and sugars are 'hidden'. simply reading a couple books on general nutrition will help. to think salad is boring just because there aren't onions or peppers in it suggests you aren't aware of the rich diversity of healthy foods out there.

try incorporating dairy. And eat as many raw veggies as possible. Also...try a salad before every meal...it helps. And eat a grapefruit a day...These all help lose weight. My hubby tried it and it worked for him..
