Most of the time, puffiness and dark circles can be attributed to hereditary factors. Dark circles can also indicate a lack of nutrients in your system, like potassium or iron.

Make sure you never use your eye cream closer to your eye than the orbital bone. You should never where creams/moisturizers closer to the eye than the orbital bone. Dab your moisturizer around the orbital bone. Your eye area will "drink inwards" what it needs. The puffiness can be due to cream/moisterizer too close to the eye.

Other factors that could cause puffiness could be allergies to your pillow or eye makeup, or excessive salt intake, or something similar.

If using concealer to cover dark circles, don't use something white or lighter than your skin colouring. It will look like your wearing concealer and you'll look ridiculous.

If you wanted the name of a really good product, I would suggest the Jane Iredale Enlighten. Enlighten is like a concealer and it is specially formulated for dark circles. It is enriched with vitamin k and nutrients that will actually work towards minimizing the dark circles around your eyes. Personally, I used to use it daily, but after three or four months of wearing it, I found my dark circles were manageble with just my foundation base and I didn't need the extra product.

Always use your concealer AFTER you apply your base (you may find you won't need as much). Then use a brush or sponge with some base to blend in the concealer with your foundation.

Dark circles are caused by a concentration of veins showing through the thin under eye skin. To cover then ( If you are a female ) apply a yellow-based concealer to cancel out the blue hue. Try: Benefit Lemon Aid, $ 18.

Other then using concealer- the yellow one- Ive used warm USED tea bags- they do both darkness & puffiness- Also cucumbers work well too. if you suffer from unusual dark circles -blottin a concealer will not work... The black will still come through,,, even if you sleep well- eat right- (lots of iron) reduce your stress- Its something I live with everyday- some days are worse than others;;Like someone said its the veins under the eyes- even if you have cosmetic surgery- which ive looked into- if its part of your genetics-no surgery will be 100%

get plenty of rest and eat a well-balanced diet. when applying eye make-ups and creams, blot, don't rub the delicate eye area. buy an eye mask that you can cool in the fridge to use each night to help tighten the capillaries and decrease swelling. use a moisturizing eye cream twice morning and night if you have normal or dry skin. a cream with vitamin k and collagen will help to lighten dark circles. use only at night if you have oily or combination skin. avoid tugging at the eyelids, such as with contact lenses because this stretches the tissues and eyelids don't have much elasticity. if you wear contacts try taking one day off per week and wear glasses instead. when doing your make-up, use a lighter shade of eye shadow under the eyes to brighten them and diffuse light. one with a little shimmer is helpful. and use eyeliner with a dark mascare on the upper lids only to draw attention away from the under-eye area.

have faith it or no longer, i've got heard that hemorrhoid cream works properly. some thing approximately the way it relieves the swelling decrease than the eyes, merely like it does interior the, uh, different areas. yet another person-friendly technique is to apply cucumbers (a slice over each and each eye for a minimum of 20 minutes). one ingredient that works properly for me is seeped tea luggage. positioned 2 tea luggage in warm water, and while they have made the water into tea, positioned the tea luggage over your eyes for a minimum of 20 minutes. the warmth feels good, and it has a tendency to cut back the puffiness and circles. of path, there is often an excellent evening's sleep that has a tendency to do the trick as properly.

Deal with any allergies, especially hidden food allergies. That can cause the circles.

There is, however, a new product proven to diminish under eye circles. Its called Hylexin. You don't need a prescription but its pretty expensive (about $75/tube)

soak a cotton ball in cold milk and cover your eyes for as long as you can take it (regularly) rest your eyes as much as possible, meaning no reading or watching TV for long periods of time. Also sleep with an eye mask at night. For more restful nights put lavender dry flowers (potpourri) in a sachet and place it under your pillow.

Really cold water or ice gets rids of the puffiness, and just use cover-up or concealer under your eyes.
