Our special handshake is not something to be revealed on the internet like that. It is a sacred trust and I don't believe that there are any sorors who would just put the answer to that question on here that way. But, if you really want to know the answer then this coming fall participate in an interest meeting at any college or university with an active chapter and begin the process to becoming a member. Once you have joined the handshake will be taught to you with no problem.

First and foremost, do really and truly think members of Alpha Kappa Alpha, INC. will even answer this online, let alone to an individual that isn't even a member of our great organization? Let's be real about the situation, if you wish to know the meaning behind anything, participate in MIP (Membership Intake Process) just like the ones that has already gone through it.

The one pinky up thing is their symbol that they do in public. The handshake is a private AKA thing that no respectable AKA would reveal to any non-AKA.
