Well Darby, sex is a pretty important factor in any relationship, regardless of it's type. It's supposed to be a demonstration of mutual feelings between the partners, and it also helps create a stronger bounding. In my opinion it's close to impossible to keep a relationship that doesn't involve sex.
Good luck to you...

Please feel free to read some of my Q's from a few days ago. I have this same situation. My hubby was raised very religious (his parents even slept in seperate rooms) so when I come to him for sex he always acts like it isn't needed. I used to feel so rejected. You really just have to talk to him, seriously get drunk and spill your deepest darkest feelings if that's what it takes. If he doesn't want to listen today then do it agian tomorrow, and everyday till it's worked out. My hubby and I fought every night for over a week before we came to the conclusion that it was not just sex that I wanted, but affection... it seemed that lying together on the couch watching a movie did almost as well as a few minutes in the sack. Please feel free to email me and I may be able to answer specific questions. Like I said a few days ago I went through an entire day of asking VERY SPECIFIC questions with lots of detail and then moved on from the answers to the next issue I was feeling. After 5 or 6 Q's and 100's of answers I managed to realise that sex wasn't the only issue. I really know that this site can be helpfull if you give enough detail and look inside with the answers in mind (don't give up just because that's what an answer says... think about how giving up would make you feel really... then go from that feeling to a new Q) Best wishes

I would seriously consider marriage counseling. Also if you have the money invest in private investigation because if you were having sex before you were married and then after you got married it has stopped, then you really need to look into answers. I hope everything works out for you two and take care.

Nothing wrong with a battery powered hobby. But I think I would try to find out why he wasn't interested? Could be a medical problem. Good luck!

perhaps he is not interested in sex and you have to take initiative so that your married life and sex life goes hand in hand while your partners dream of getting you a hobby is also satisfied

I guess a man on the side would be a new hobby. Do you think he is cheating? Something to think about.

I THINK YOU ARE PUTTING ALL YOUR ENERGY AT ONE ASPECT OF MARRIAGE , POSSIBLY YOU HUSBAND WANTS YOU TO EXPAND AS A PERSON, MAYBE YOU ARE PUTTING NOT ENOUGH IN YOUR RELATIONSHIP AND YOUR PARTNER IS DRIFTING APART BECAUSE HE FINDS YOU IDLING AWAY AND DOING NOTHING THE WHOLE DAY AND IT PUTS HIM OFF SEX, OR MAY BE HE IS UNDER SOME FINIANCIAL CRISIS OR SOMETHING, WHICH AT TIMES TAKES A MANS MIND OF SEX, AND MAYBE HE THINKS YOU DON;T BOTHER TO FIND OUT WHATS TROUBLING HIM. MARRIGE IS NOT SEX BETWEEN TWO ITS MATING OF MINDS AND SOUL, ITS CRAZY TO TALK ABOT HAVING AFFAIRS OR LEAVING HIM . DEAR SEE A COUNCELLOR TALK OPENLY TO EACH OTHER CUDDLE HIM AND ASK HIM WHAT YOU CAN DO TO HELP HIM STOP REJECTING YOU. REMEMBER YOU MARRIED HIM FOR BETTER OR WORSE...

Sounds like there's some underlying issues you don't know about. Not necessarily cheating, but something else could be on his mind - hell, maybe he just can't get it up and he's embarrassed. My best friend dated a guy for several months and he never wanted to have sex. Come to find out, he wasn't attracted to her and dumped her later on. Talk to him and find out.
