I posted an earlier qestion regarding an DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL message I get when not using my computer. That is, when i am using it, typing and scrolling, everything is fine, but often when left unattended to run by itslef it gives me the above message on the dreaded blue screen.
I believe it is a mouse problem but can not figure it out for sure, i ran driver detective and i say that my drivers for my touchpad mouse and optical mouse are both missing the correct drivers. I have uninstalled reinstalled software and drivers, installed new, plug-and-play mice but i get the same problem. blue screen and driver detective says its still not got the right drivers.
any ideas.??

no reponses about viruses/hackers/spayware please. Its a hardware/drivers problem

It is an IRQ (Interrupt Request) conflict. Each device connected to PC will be assigned an IRQ through which the device calls the systems's attention. May be both your touch pad and optical mouse trying to use the same IRQ. Open your device manager (Control Panel -> System -> Hardware) and from there Expand Mouse and pointing device. Most probably you will be seeing an ! maek against your mouse. Right click -> Properties and click Resources. Check whether you see any conflict. Sometimes you can change it (Set the IRQ to a different value which is not used by other devices, check other devices to make it sure).

Also the wrong driver will cause the issue. Try to identify the make and model of your mouse (like Logitech Optical Scroll Mouse) and install the driver. Almost all the drivers are available free from the makers website

If I am going to leave the computer running without using the mouse I take the batteries out and disconnect. Reconnect when you want to use the mouse.
