This is most likely to happen in the US where there is an environment that allows for it. There are many examples given above. Some countries have a class system which tends to prevent this. An example is the UK. I knew a professor from Australia who moved there from England because he was born poor and said he could never be accepted as a professor because of where he was from. An extreme example is India which has a caste system..

Don't expect a quick and easy "fix." If it were easy, there would be a lot more billionaires around!

Education. Education. Education. Education. EDUCATION!!!

Learn as much as you can from the best sources you can reach.

Save your money so that you can get more education - education is your best investment because it is an investment in yourself.

Also, pay attention to what is going on around you (your local business environment). Is there a need which isn't being met? Can you meet that need with some time and effort? Would other people pay you for that work?

Pay attention to what is going on in the world.

Continue to save and invest your money carefully in ways that are are sure will pay back your investment PLUS more.

Be smart! Be willing to make mistakes (you learn a lot from them, too), and KEEP TRYING!

Good luck!!

if you are a genius at something you could start anything and anywhere.
Bill Gates from Microsoft fame said that he does not worry about other big corporations but he worries about the guy in his garage tinkering at something totally new. That could be anywhere and anyone!
