A blessing in disguise? You serious? It was a massive hurricane that hit Mississippi and parts of Louisiana. It was neither. No one cursed us (in Mississippi) and it most certainly wasn't a blessing.

I invite anyone who thinks that to come to Mississippi and I'll give you a personal tour!!!

Well to me it was a curse, I live in Texas and we have so many of the Gang members that moved close to me and I live in an upscale neighborhood. We have had a 50% crime increase and 2 murders in the neighborhood. I wish they could all go back to New Orleans but I just got back from there and it will probably take another 5 years to finish. Heaven help them if another hurricane comes through, threre won't be anything left!

I am not saying all of them are bad I have met some really cool people from New Orleans and they will be my friends for life. I love New Orleans its a fun place to visit, but I wouldn't live there, its a soup bowl and I don't think the levys will hold, the Gov. didn't do a good job before the hurricane and I don't trust they have done a better one now. Too many people died and I think the Gov. of Lousiana could have prevented it, by getting the people out sooner than they did.

For the people that had the direct path it was a curse. For New Orleans it was actually both. The whole world became aware of the what graft, corruption, and shady politics will get you. The whole world viewed an Incompetent mayor, the shame of the new Orleans citizens, and a total boob of a governor. Thank god the quarter was spared the brunt. Since the tested scenario the year before didn't get their attention, perhaps the real life actual scenario will focus them on something other than diverting funds for Levy's to build casinos and lining their pockets. They will also have to do it without fleecing the nation as they have already tried to do.

It is a curse, in my opinion.
Human life has value, where ever it may be.
