You should wash in cold water and use a gentle detergent, such as one of the detergents for babies. Also use a liquid detergent, not powdered.
But if you have hard water that will also cause colors to fade, regardless of the temperature. If that is the case only a water conditioner (water softener) will help.

use the cold water setting, it keeps the dyes in the fabric, also to really make sure, use the gentle setting. There are specific detergents for dark clothing -Woolite Dark, for example. Use only oxygen bleach-like oxyclean, Wash all the darks together, and if possible, line dry. Baring that you could use the dryer on a no heat setting.

Use cold water, turn the clothes inside out... only wash with like colors and use very mild soap like what they use for baby's clothes or something like woollite. And dry the clothes on low and not piping hot...
That will help.. but eventually it all fades..

Probably the soap your using, I used to use a less expensive brand and my clothes got spotty and faded, I switched to Tide and my clothes look great and the scent stays in them so you smell really clean. Plus try putting the soap in the washer when it is filling up, not directly on the clothes.

Also, use lots of water and not a heaping amount of soap. Lots of people set washer to "small load" setting and then end up with soap marks because the soap can't dissolve.

you should use a different laundry soap. I use woolite darks, and it works wonders, the colors don't fade anymore.

Cold water, and detergent for darks. All will fade eventually, but this will help them to last longer.

Wash in cold water and try line drying or hang on a hanger to dry. Good Luck.

You can use Woolite for dark colors, and use cold water when washing darks...warm makes them bleed more.
