bush wants to control the middle east as the west is dependant on the oil from the worlds largest reserves. blair is dragging us into a dirty little war against Lebanon to further the US hold and its possible striking of Iran. We are all in the crapper with this which may escalate into a world war. The US is a fundamentalist society and bush is playing to these christian crackpots who believe armageddon is just around the corner - he will have no problem in engaging a war that fulfills his country's deepest beliefs. Of course they should. All the the foreign interference of USA and Britain during the last 30 years has been a disaster..Backing the Shah in Iran, then withdrawing their support.Backing Saddam Hussein, then supporting his foes in overthrowing him.Supporting all the autocratic rulers in other Gulf states against the wishes of the democratic majority.Unreserved support of Israel in their land grabbing and genocidal practices.A few years ago, both countries were giving military aid to the Taliban backed Mujahedeen to fight against their own government and the Russians. Now they bomb the cr*p out of them at every opportunity. Both countries also have a longer track record of ruinous foreign policy. The Treaty of Versaile,Suez and Indian partition for example. Will these idiots never learn.

Not with the global economies so interconnected.
If countrys want our help
or
if they are doomed to be overthrown by rebels, guerrillas, or some anti-governmental, non-democratic, oppressive faction
then as the most powerful nation on Earth...i think it's our responsibility to help.

I feel that we should only get inmvolved when it is in our best interests or if lookes like someone is working their way to controlling the world.
Remember we were dragged into WWI an II, it was not of our own free will.

Sure, if it doesn't affect our own affairs. But just about every conflict has long-term effects, and we should at the very least pay attention to what's going on.
