The best player to set foot on the soccer field ever is Pele. The best World Cup in my opinion was the 1970 World Cup in Mexico. A Cup won by Brazil led by a young Pele and just about equally talented stars. Trite but true: Poetry in Motion.
One of the better moments in World Cup history is Diego Maradona's "Hand of God" goal.

It's a very difficult choice, but I think Pele was slightly better. His records are more impressive than Maradona's and he did wonderful things on the field.

The best world cup was Mexico '70.
- Lots of goals and offensive soccer.
- The Brazilian team was just amazing full of very talented players.
- The final had a lot at stake, who ever won it would get to keep the Jules Rimmett cup for ever! very exciting stuff.
- According to FIFA the match Germany v. Italy during the Mexico '70 semifinals was voted 'The Match of the Century'
