Yes, the female mosquito can definitely bite more than once. However, once she has a full blood meal, she won't bite again until that meal is fully digested.
So if you are getting multiple bites from a single insect, it's because she still hasn't got a full load from a single bite, and she's returning to see if she can get more.
It can take the female several days to fully digest a blood meal, transforming that protein into large numbers of eggs, and many mosquitoes never get a chance to take that second blood meal.

Yes, they bite more than once. That is how disease is spread. They carry germs in their saliva, and inject the salive into you. You were bitten repeatedly because the mosquito was still hungry.
You are thinking of bees. Bees can only sting once, since the stinger gets caught in the skin, and ripped out of the bee's body when it flies away.

no, the reason they can spread disease is because they can bite more than once. a bit of the last person's blood is left in the tube inserted to suck your blood, is the reason. the last person's blood gets deposited into you when the mosquito inserts the tube into you.

I've never heard they can only bite once...that would mean they only eat once in their lifetime? What I have heard is that only the females bite, and only the females buzz. I believe they can bite until they are "full" and then won't bite again until they're "hungry".

No, it's false. That is why when you smack them when they are trying to get a drink off you sometimes there's blood, sometimes there's not. Remember, that's how malaria and some other diseases are spread.
