this may sound a little corny but if you take the idea of the force (Steve Lucas - star wars) that encompasses and surrounds all living things. and compare it to the idea of life's energy, or soul. the two IDEAS are about the same. the energy that a living creature has belongs to the universe, some say GOD, this energy is eternal and can only change forms. then the concept of death is really only life's energy changing forms. this idea is prevalent in most religions. the eternal soul once being transformed from its earthly appearance to that which will dwell in heaven and will live in peace forever. In this light death takes on the same properties as a vacation, your loved one going on a one way trip that you yourself will eventually take. when you do you will have the opportunity to rejoin those that went ahead and wait for those that will follow. providing of course that your ticket is to the same destination.
I say we should look at death as a voyage, wish those that get to go "Bon Voyage" and throw a party. be happy - don't worry. all will turn out as the universe intends.

Death is always sad. It is inevitable because our bodies are made of decomposable matter. There is nothing after death. Once you die, it's as if you never existed.

Pro: If you are having a good life, it's great and you want to carry on living and re-experiencing the good times. Of course it will eventually become boring.

Con: If you are having a terrible life, death will be both a relief and release. Who wants to be alive and suffer all the time?

What almost drove me to the point of insanity is when I lost a loved one. She was the one person I loved more than anything else. When she died, I realized that all I have is the memory of her and she is just as dead as Cleopatra.

What really amazes me sometimes is how people act as if they are going to live forever. They horde money and material goods only to end up leaving it all behind.

Other ironies:
Whether you live a good or bad life, your destiny remains the same.

In death the rich and poor are equal.

Death negates everything in life - all the suffering, joy, striving, work. Everything is futile because of death.

I used to think about it a lot when I was younger. I exhausted that topic a while ago.....so now I just accept that it's inevitable. I'm definitely not scared of death. It's natural, and who would really want to live forever? Honestly I don't think death is as sad for the person dying as it is for that person's loved ones.

It's just something that happens to everyone. Plain and simple. Nobody's immune, and there will never be a cure for it. Many people believe they can buy thier way out of it, through organic food or scam youth creams. You can build up a vast network of wealth in this life, but I've never seen a Uhaul at a funeral. You just have to accept it. I personally believe there is a better world waiting for those who accept God and his overwhelming grace and try to live under his direction.

I've always been interested in the idea of reincarnation...but as there is no proof that (or anything else as far as an 'afterlife') occurs, I would imagine when we die...we're just dead. End of story.

I try to live my life as though that's the case (since it's the most likely scenario)...so try not to waste any of it, have as much fun as possible, be kewl to others, etc...that way if this is the only ride we get, I'll have made the best of it.

It's natural for people to be afraid of dying..but you will find that once it happens to someone "close" to you,who has been in alot of pain for an unbelieveable length of time, that it's a blessing because they are no longer suffering, and it will not seem so frightening to you after all.

I think it is good for the person who is dying (if they believe in God and Heaven) and bad for the friends and loved ones they leave behind because they will be the ones grieving.

I feel death is the only thing guaranteed when we enter our lives... I don't fear death... I just try to do as much as I can and live a fullfilled life. There's really no way to prepare because you never know when it's your time to go.

It's a transition, your vibration is somehow a determining factor. Hard to get firsthand information.
