Assuming that you are British and living here then you obviously don't have air-conditioning, otherwise why would you be asking this question?
The heat at the moment is very dangerous, especially for infants. I realise that you seem to be taking all the sensible precautions, the only other option is to get a fan, I'm using one at the moment and it does help prevent overheating.

I use an electric fan in my daughters room.
When its breezy during the day open the windows to let the air in otherwise your better off keeping the heat out and shutting the curtains/blinds.
Lighter coloured blinds/curtains will help reflect the sunlight away and theory should keep the room cooler.

make sure they are sleeping in a t-shirt/onsie to ensure they are not wearing too many clothes. Maybe you could try putting them in a different room (if that is an option) on the other side of the house. Maybe the sun is too much on the side they are on. Keep a fan going all the time and maybe keep the air conditioning set on 72f (I don't know the celsius conversion). Good luck.

Hi!
I read that you have blackout shades, but are they honeycomb shades or a product that helps with the insulating value? I have honeycomb shades with a cordless feature in my nursery and they are great! I can feel the difference when they are open and closed.
I am biased since I work for this company, but I think you will find a great selection with great prices.

You can buy a portable airconditioner that you move from room to room. It's made by DeLonghi. Their site is www.delonghi.com Click on your country, then click the Products tab, then Air Treatment/Cooling/etc. (Each country's site has a different way of wording air conditioner. :))

I'm not sure what degrees that is F.. but I'm assuming you know what you're talking about. Close the windows and turn the air on.. and please do so quickly, as SIDS risks are greater while the room is hot/stuffy!
