Neither are good ideas during a storm of course, but I'd much prefer the porch than the tree. Simple mathematics... there's more tree than porch and thus a larger target for lightning. Odds are that the home with a porch also has a lightning rod.

I would think standing on the porch or under the tree, go inside to be on the safe side.

neither are good their both large and kinda tall AND made of wood!!! Unless you're talking about a place to live then i would say under the porch lol

are you worried about lightning?
standing under a tree is more dangerous.
